Some Fallschirmjäger for the Med

I bought a box of Italeri Fallschirmjäger in Tropical Uniform. These are nice figures even thought they do have many of the common problems and issues relating to plastic figures. But they do have their positives too. They are easy to convert, the plastic they are made with is fairly hard, they are cheap and they do have nice detail and natural poses.

They can be used for any post 1942 fallschirmjäger unit but I chose to do them in their tropical uniform for games set in Tunisia, Sicily and Italy. I'd like to do a game of Monte Casino some time and these will be perfect. Having said that I will need to compliment them with some metals (most likely AB).

So far I've only done a couple of sections, platoon HQ and a pair of mortars.

I like the mortars. It only has a crew of one but a bit of conversion on the second one (right) and I got an effective second crewman. I think I'll do another one in this style and replace the binocular guy. He can be used elsewhere as something (gun crew or whatever).

I did another conversion: I made the kneeling radio guy out of the standing signalman and another binocular guy. He will be an artillery/mortar spotter.

I also painted up some resin trucks for my Afrika Korps. They are pretty crappy but they were cheap and I didn't have to assemble them. I still need to add some decals when I get some to finish them off. The field car is also a resin piece with a couple of AB figures.

And I made this out of a crappy resin 2pdr which I had sitting around. It can be used to decorate the battlefield or as an objective marker or whatever.
